Each stock item has been assigned a "unit of measure" or UOM. This UOM is used to determine the quantity or number of items that should be recorded on the checkout slip.

For example, item "070959 FOLDER, Smead manilla L/S 1/3 cut" has a UOM of Each. The folders are stocked in a box containing 100 folders. If you take 5 folders, you should enter "5" for the quantity on the check-out slip.
