“Bringing the Universe to Wisconsin”

Friday, December 7th, 2012

The Wisconsin IceCube Particle Astrophysics Center (WIPAC) is having an outreach program that will tour UW System campuses explaining the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. The outreach tour will go to UW-Platteville, UW-Marathon County, UW-Eau Claire, and Marshfield in 2013.

PSL was a large contributor in the IceCube project, having constructed numerous parts for the IceCube project including: digital optical modules (DOMs), the Hot Water Drill, the Hot Water Hose reel, and the Independent Firn Drill. PSL staff also went to the Pole in both engineering and driller capacities.
