ARA Shipping to the Pole

Thursday, November 15th, 2012

This time of year, PSL sends equipment to the South Pole. Previously, it was for the IceCube project. This year PSL is sending a new hose reel and drill head built for the Askaryan Radio Array (ARA) project. PSL engineer Terry Benson and technician Darrell Hamilton have left for “the Pole” and will be putting the new hose reel and drill head to work during the upcoming 2012-13 drilling season.

The hose reel packed and on the truck.

The shipment waits in its crates.
