Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Dan’s areas of expertise include:
- High-speed digital logic design and analog circuit engineering
- Software application programming
- Systems engineering
- Discrete logic design including ECL, PECL, CMOS, TTL and low voltage TTL
- Gate arrays and circuits with programmable logic
- Software languages such as ANSI C, LabView, LabWindows
- Experience with Fortran, FORTH, and system specific micro code
Dan has used his skills and expertise:
- Developed microprocessor based telephones for the deaf as Ultratec project engineer
- Engineering product development, system design, and customer service at Neuro Concepts Inc.
- Designed digital oscilloscopes at Nicolet Instrument Corporation
- Designed hardware and software to support the Xray Microbeam for speech motor research
In his current PSL position Dan uses his specialized skills in:
- Designing integration of digital optical modules for IceCube Project
- Designing motion control systems for SGM and DCM products
- Designing special function circuit boards for research projects (black body controller for Space Science Center, front end processor for TomoTherapy)
- Writing software for embedded systems
- Writing test vectors for special function ASICs
