Farshid Feyzi
PSL Technical Director

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Licensed Professional Engineer (Wisconsin)

Farshid's areas of expertise include:

  • Mechanical design and product design
  • Project development, configuration, and management
  • Mechanical analysis including finite element analysis
  • Capacity to stay on top of a vast number of projects’ specific data
  • Customer contact, marketing, public relations
  • Technical direction and supervision

Farshid has used his skills and expertise in:

  • Mechanical engineering since 1982 with increasing level of responsibility
  • Engineering, construction and management for unique scientific apparatus used at the forefront of research in a wide variety of fields
  • Since 1995 has been the Technical Director at PSL with full responsibility of all projects which have included colossal detectors for physics research to minute devices for medical research

In his current PSL position Farshid uses his specialized skills to:

  • Make sure all aspects of project development, design and construction proceed toward a desired outcome. Most PSL projects are multi-disciplinary that take several years to complete.
  • Keep overall project picture in mind while making sure the smallest detail is correctly executed
  • His previous positions in the industry in design development, configuration and production of research equipment has given him the perspective of a customer who is interested in the final outcome (product) instead of the process (project). PSL has benefited from this and is able to serve its clients better.
